The Information Technology Department ensures the stability and integrity of the institute’s in-house network infrastructure and services. The IT Project Manager will serve in a leading role, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external consultants & vendors to plan, design and implement a variety of technical projects and focus on information management, and maintenance and development of the IT infrastructure.

Reporting to Director of Information Technology and working closely with NY-based IT staff, the IT Project Manager will:

  • Plan, design and implement LAN-based or cloud-based projects across various offices in a highly collaborative environment, including end user training and communication.
  • Enhance and document information management infrastructure for an increasingly mobile workforce including strategies for data management, governance, integration, accessibility and collaboration across many platforms (email, intranet, internal network, messaging, etc.). Manage Microsoft SQL & Access databases across the organization.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and update the network and security infrastructure, including tests and implementations of vendor security patches, and workarounds for un-patched security vulnerabilities.
  • Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, system back-up, restore protocol and disaster recovery plan.
  • Handle some network/system administration duties including, but not limited to, installing, testing, configuring, monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network services, network hardware & printers, Wifi systems, end-user workstations, laptops, software, and peripheral devices.  Serve as a point of escalation for level 3 & complex help desk troubleshooting and issue resolution. Provide end-user support when required.
  • Procure IT hardware and software products and partner with our external vendors to generate quotes and work orders. Make budget recommendations for new solutions and upgrades to existing tools and systems.
  • Provide strategic thought partnership and support for Director of Information Technology, assisting with overall IT Department planning as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or a related field required; Certifications in PMP, MCSA, MCSE or MCP strongly desired.

Five years’ experience in IT Project Management role executing small to large LAN and cloud-based projects across multiple sites.

LAN/network administration & engineering experience required.

Demonstrated understanding of Information Management strategy required.

Strong hands-on technical knowledge of VMWARE, IT security, Active Directory, Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office, Adobe applications, networking software & hardware, protocols (DHCP, DNS, VPN, TCP/IP, VOIP, etc.);  Microsoft Office 365 for business and MS SQL server.

Experience in email, web conferencing, wireless networks, network switch configuration and scripting. 

Excellent written & verbal communication, customer service and presentation skills.

Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

Compensation:  High 80K to Low 90K range based on experience; excellent benefits.
