The Vera Institute of Justice is a justice reform change agent. Vera is a truly unique institution in the justice reform field in that it promotes fairness across a variety of substantive areas – bail reform, adult and youth confinement, access to justice for immigrants, services of victims of violence – and because it does so by working closely with national, state, and local leaders as a trusted partner. We’re looking for a Digital Associate to join our Communications Department.We want someone who spends every waking moment on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Snapchat, and is as passionate about social justice as they are about finding the perfect hashtag. Reporting to the Digital Strategy Director, the Digital Associate will help grow Vera’s digital and social media channels, through a mixture of editorial production, content generation, and news monitoring.

You will:

  • Write, edit, and curate content for digital platforms;
  • Monitor news developments and data releases for opportunities to create compelling and original content, both on social media and on Vera’s blog;
  • Work with Digital Strategy Director to develop social content in service of initiatives and publications, and schedule content in advance of release;
