The Vera New Orleans Office works with government, residents, and local organizations to drive improvement in New Orleans’s criminal justice system. The office provides policy and data analysis and implementation assistance to advance practices that achieve equality, dignity, and effectiveness in the administration of justice.

 

The Vera Institute of Justice (Vera) seeks an experienced leader with a passion for and knowledge of criminal justice and social justice issues in New Orleans and the South to serve as Director, New Orleans Office (Director). Reporting to the Vera Executive Vice President and Special Counsel, Kevin Keenan, the Director will provide creative and inspirational leadership for the New Orleans office.

 

Serving as the primary spokesperson for Vera New Orleans, the Director will be responsible for crafting and communicating the organization’s vision, as well as achieving positive visibility and impact through the organization’s work. The successful candidate will have the stature, credibility, humility, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse constituents. In addition to passion for the mission of Vera, the Director will have the demonstrated ability to engage constituents in a manner that generates shared purpose and meaningful action.
