What you’ll do

The Digital Fundraising Manager, working closely with the VP of Development and the Digital Engagement Director, will supervise all aspects of social media and email fundraising and collaborate on donor-facing digital communications.

 

The Digital Fundraising Manager’s responsibilities include:

1. Partner closely with the Digital team within Communications on all elements of social media fundraising and other joint efforts between Development and Communications, including:

  • Scheduling, drafting, editing, designing, and routing for approval all fundraising emails, in consultation with the Digital team     
  • Managing Vera's Google AdWords grant and other display advertising as related to fundraising, in cooperation with the Digital team
  • Managing and optimizing all of Vera's online donation page
  • Creating Vera's online and print annual report

 

2. Lead efforts to acquire new online donors, not only through social media, but also through email acquisition and other means.  This includes:

  • Detailed tracking of online giving performance metrics and analytics and developing new strategies based on these results to maximize ROI
  • Leveraging social media accounts to form and maintain relationships with celebrities, influencers, activists, partner organizations, corporate prospects, and well-known leaders in the justice reform space, all with the goal of increasing Vera’s brand recognition and soliciting gifts from these individuals/organizations and their social media followers

 

3. Collaborate with the California Development Manager on both online and offline fundraising activities targeting West Coast donors and prospects

 

What qualifications you will need

The Digital Fundraising Manager candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, 2+ years working in a Development department, prior digital fundraising experience
  • Experience with Mailchimp, Salsa, and Google AdWords preferred
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written
  • A deep understanding of digital communications tools, including social media
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple issue areas and with multiple teams
  • Able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadline
  • Extremely collaborative
  • Strong analytical skills in interpreting and translating metrics, and ability to act on findings
  • Highly attentive to detail especially regarding digital visuals and copy
  • Is dedicated to Vera’s mission and the goals of the Development and Communications departments
